SSP America Introduces More Local Favorites at SFO with The Little Chihuahua

SSP America, a division of SSP Group, a leading operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide, has opened The Little Chihuahua at San Francisco International Airport’s (SFO) Terminal 1. The Little Chihuahua opening follows the opening of other, SSP operated, San Francisco favorites, including: The Manufactory Food Hall—which features Tartine Bakery, Tacos Cala and Kin Khao Thai Eatery—and local brunch hotspot, Sweet Maple.

First opened in 2007 as a neighborhood taqueria on Divisadero Street in the Lower Haight, The Little Chihuahua is one of the hottest taquerias to emerge from San Francisco’s diverse, culinary landscape. Part of the fresh-forward food movement dedicated to authentic flavors and using the freshest possible ingredients, owners Chef Andrew Johnstone and Christopher Patella are committed to sourcing local, seasonal, sustainable ingredients to create fresh, healthy Mexican inspired plates. The Little Chihuahua is passionate about providing innovative Mexican dishes that are delicious and, prepared with a conscience

For SFO’s Terminal 1, The Little Chihuahua brings a fast-casual Mexican taqueria brimming with artisanal goodness—everything is handcrafted, reliably sourced and packed full of flavor. The restaurant will serve organic egg-based tacos, burritos and chilaquiles for breakfast, in addition to lunch and dinner. The restaurant’s beloved Fried Plantain & Black Bean tacos and burritos will also be offered at SFO. Extensive vegetarian choices include their famous Fried Plantain & Black Bean Burrito. Along with a selection of beer and wine, The Little Chihuahua will also serve up their famous cocktails including margaritas, Bloody Marias, Mexican Old-Fashioned, Buen Viaje, and as a veritable nod to the region—Adios San Francisco.

Paul Loupakos, Vice President, Business Development noted, “For SFO’s Harvey Milk Terminal 1 Redevelopment, SSP America is delighted to bring The Little Chihuahua—one of San Francisco’s favorite and most popular Mexican restaurants. Visitors and locals alike seek out The Little Chihuahua for its delicious, thoughtfully sourced food and hospitality. Reflective of San Francisco’s dining scene, The Little Chihuahua blends NorCal spins on Mexican classic. From the drinks to the food, everything here is handcrafted to order and, with a conscience.”
