RG worked together with TPE to launch the “West Coast Kitchen” on board menu. The TPE trains services running on the Manchester/Liverpool to Glasgow/Edinburgh route offer an exclusive First Class Menu with many of the meals being created in RG’s very own Central Food Production Unit in Heston. The new menu was developed by RG working with TPE and was launched in early 2024, tying in with the client’s commitment to the communities they serve along the route. This was demonstrated by the provenance of the products and the partnerships formed with local suppliers. For example, Highland and Regional breakfast; Macaroni Cheese with Scottish produced Belhaven cheese and PieDemand sausage rolls produced in Carlisle.
Over 30 new colleagues were recruited to be part of the new culinary experience and a total of 80 colleagues, both new recruits and existing hosts, received exclusive Celebrity Service Training from the renowned Geoff Ramm.
The launch was deemed so successful that the enhanced catering service is being introduced on another TPE route Liverpool to Newcastle from February 2025. This will again involve menu development and production along with the recruitment of over 20 new colleagues.
