SSP Asia Pacific wins £48 million contract at China’s Shenyang Taoxian International Airport

SSP, a leading operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide, has won a five plus five year deal valued at approximately £48 million over ten years to operate six new units at Shenyang Taoxian International Airport, China.

The brands featured will be nationally and internationally well-known brands Ajisen Ramen, Yon Ho, and Yoshinoya, alongside locally popular names Happy Gimbaq, Da Qing Hua, and Gang Zai. Almost half of the 1,300 square metre new facility will be on the domestic landside departure mezzanine, while the remainder is located in the airside mezzanine precinct.

Commenting on the deal, Chris Rayner, CEO of SSP Asia Pacific said, “This important contract win will give us a strategic foothold in the rapidly growing Northeastern part of China, where we will continue to target further expansion of our business. The new units will be a mix of international, national and local brands based on our consumer research findings and I am certain they will provide visitors to Shenyang International Airport with a great variety of food and beverage experiences. Today’s announcement demonstrates SSP’s ambition to grow both in large and medium sized airports, and further reinforces our market leading position in China.”

The new units are scheduled to begin trading in 2016.
