SSP Group, a leading operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations worldwide, is celebrating the opening of five Kamps bakery kiosks at Cologne Central Station. The news follows the announcement in March 2019 that SSP had expanded its partnership with DB Station&Service AG.
The new platform kiosks offer passengers an assortment of food to go from Germany’s most famous bakery, including fresh baguettes and bread rolls prepared on site, sweet and savoury pastries, cold drinks and specialty coffees.
Jan Kamp, Director of Business Development & Properties at SSP, said: “Cologne Central Station is the largest station in North Rhine-Westphalia, so there is a need to offer travellers a diverse mix of food and beverage brands and products. In this sense, the Kamps kiosks are a valuable addition to the site. They provide fast service and tailor-made offerings to commuters and travellers with short transfer times, which is especially important in a busy transport environment.”
Matthias Ernst, Head of Rental in the West Regional Division at DBStation & Service AG said: “We are pleased about the successful launch of the new stores and the reception from passengers. From the very first opening, the feedback has been positive and the offer has been very well received. Travellers can now take advantage of the new Kamps kiosks on nearly every platform.”
SSP operates a total of 15 F&B units in Cologne, including two additional Kamps stores at Cologne Central Station.
