TFS helps provide food for those most in need

TFS, the joint venture between SSP and K Hospitality in India, is proud to be part of an initiative called Karuna Seva, which is serving meals to frontline workers and those struggling as a result of Covid-19. To date, more than one million meals have been cooked and served.

From kitchens at multiple locations across Bangalore and Mumbai, TFS volunteers have been cooking food for those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic including daily wage workers, who have been hardest hit by the restrictions put in place to control the outbreak of the virus. Stringent safety measures, such as temperature checks before each shift, strict social distancing, and regular hand washing reminders, have helped to ensure the wellbeing of all the teams involved. The initiative has been managed in conjunction with partner NGOs and the Maharashtra government.

“2020 has brought one of the biggest challenges that we have ever seen in our lifetimes,” said Gaurav Dewan COO of TFS. “Our team is highly motivated and has been working every day in our kitchens to make sure those in need don’t remain hungry. From all the Karuna Seva team, a heartfelt thank you.”
